It's a blog!

Ha, obviously it's a blog. But, darn it if I couldn't come up with something more creative, since honestly I didn't really plan this out. Like most things in my life, I just sat down and decided to fly by the seat of my pants. A trait that served me well in my formative years. Another trait I know too well, procrastination, just ask my mother. There are few things that I procrastinate with in life to this day, okay maybe more than a few, but writing this blog and organizing my Etsy Shop are two items that feel like they've been a permanent fixture on my "to-do list" this summer. As I sit here and type this I am going back and forth between my Etsy page and my blog trying to decide where to start.

I lost my nine to five job amidst the pandemic and while it was a terrifying prospect in the moment, especially being a mother to three girls and two puppers. After a day or two of moping I decided that this was an amazing opportunity, a blessing in disguise. I've spent the last couple years feeling like I was in a rut within my career. I am a creative person, I thrive off thinking outside of the box, using my hands, the feeling of completing a project and transforming something not so aesthetically pleasing into something I can stare at indefinitely (or at least until my taste changes). Here I am telling you all how I love to be creative all while naming my first blog, "It's a Blog!", insert hard eye roll. So anyways, I decide; stop complaining and start d oing what I had always wanted to do, work for myself. While I would like to take all the credit for this sudden burst of courage, alas, I cannot. I have an amazing partner that has been there 100% of the way, encouraging me, listening to wild dreams and helping me learn all the in's and out's of working with wood. He's kind of awesome and super fun to work with. But that's enough of that.

So, here's to the start of something new, chasing our dreams and making them come true! Welcome along on the wild ride and hopefully you come back for more. Unless you were just here to see if I finished the Etsy shop or the blog first. In that's case, the Etsy shop was finished first and now the first blog is! Talk to you next week friends!
